Version of October 10, 2026. By using araucaniaandina.com you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who we are
Araucanía Andina is a travel guide to the districts of Curacautín, Lonquimay, Melipeuco, Cunco and Vilcún, in the Araucanía Region, Chile, online since 2016.
Owner: Antonio Mondaca Vargas, founder of Araucanía Andina (provisional owner). This will be replaced by the legal name, RUT (Chilean tax ID) and address of the responsible company once it is incorporated.
Contact: hola@araucaniaandina.com
2. What the site offers
- Guides and travel content: attractions, routes, events, lodging, food and useful information for your trip.
- Online booking (marketplace): when available, you will be able to book and pay for experiences, lodging and other services provided by local businesses.
- Recommended products: links to third-party products, such as camping gear on Mercado Libre.
- Advertising: spaces where businesses and organizations can show their services.
3. Information on the site
We publish reviewed information and, where relevant, we state the source and the date. Even so, opening hours, prices, access, road conditions, weather and park openings may change without notice. Before you travel, check the official sources (CONAF, Vialidad, the municipalities, Sernatur, the Chilean Weather Service and the businesses themselves). Araucanía Andina informs, but does not guarantee the conditions of a place or the safety of an activity.
4. Content and photos
The texts, photos, videos, maps, logos and design of the site belong to Araucanía Andina or to those who authorized us to use them. You may share links to our pages, but you may not copy or publish our content without written permission. If you believe any content infringes your rights, write to us and we will review it.
5. Third-party links and recommended products
The site links to third-party websites. We do not control their content or their terms.
Some product links, such as those to Mercado Libre, are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. The purchase, shipping, warranty and customer service are provided by the seller on that platform, under its own terms.
6. Online bookings
This section applies once the marketplace is available.
- Who provides the service. Araucanía Andina is an intermediary. The experience, lodging or service is provided by the business that lists it (the "seller"), which is responsible for delivering it as offered.
- Prices. All prices are shown in Chilean pesos (CLP), including VAT (IVA). If the seller charges a balance on site, the amount is shown before you pay.
- Payment. You pay online with Mercado Pago. The payment goes to the seller and Araucanía Andina receives its commission. The booking is confirmed when Mercado Pago reports the payment as approved, not when you return from the payment page.
- Voucher. You will receive a voucher with a QR code by email and in your account. Show it when you arrive.
- Cancellations. Each service states its cancellation policy before you pay. If you cancel, that policy applies.
- Suspension due to weather or force majeure. If the seller suspends the service because of weather, road closures or another cause beyond your control, you may choose another date or a full refund of what you paid.
- Right of withdrawal. It applies under Law 19,496 on consumer rights, as far as it applies to services with a set date. We inform you about it when you book.
- Reviews. Only people who booked and used the service can leave a review. We do not publish fake or paid reviews.
7. Sernatur registry
Lodging and adventure tourism businesses must register in the National Registry of Tourism Service Providers of Sernatur, Chile's national tourism service (Law 20,423). On the site, each business page shows whether it has that registration and, if it does not, says so: "This business is not registered with Sernatur". You can check a registration on Sernatur's official website.
8. Gift cards
Gift cards can only be used for bookings with the business stated on them, made on Araucanía Andina. Their validity is shown when you buy them. If a booking is cancelled with a refund, the balance goes back to the gift card.
9. Your account
To book you need an account with your real details and a verified email. Keep your password safe: whatever is done with your account is your responsibility. We may suspend an account used for fraud, abuse or against these terms.
10. Advertising
Ads are labelled "Advertising" or "Sponsored" and are reviewed before they are published. We do not publish ads for:
- tobacco, e-cigarettes and vapes;
- prescription drugs or products with health claims;
- betting and casinos without legal authorization in Chile;
- weapons, ammunition, and hunting or fishing outside the law;
- sexual content or adult services;
- political or electoral propaganda (tourism campaigns by municipalities and public services are accepted);
- loans, investments or cryptocurrencies not regulated by the CMF (Chile's Financial Market Commission);
- pyramid, multi-level or "easy money" schemes;
- destinations outside Chile;
- land subdivisions without up-to-date permits;
- activities that harm nature;
- misleading ads: prices without VAT, offers without a reference price or made-up testimonials;
- content that discriminates or uses Mapuche culture in a stereotyped way or without authorization.
Ads for lodging and adventure tourism state whether the business is registered with Sernatur.
11. Liability
We do our best to keep the site working and the information accurate, but we are not liable for service interruptions, for decisions you make based only on the published information, or for services provided by third parties. This does not limit the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
12. Personal data
How we use your data is explained in the privacy policy.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We will publish the date of the current version and, if the change is important, we will let you know. Bookings already paid are governed by the terms in force when they were paid.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Chile. You may file complaints with the National Consumer Service (Sernac) or with the competent courts.
