Version of October 10, 2026. Here we explain what personal data we use, what for, and what your rights are, under Chilean Law 19,628 and Law 21,719 on the protection of personal data.
This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Controller
Data controller: Antonio Mondaca Vargas, founder of Araucanía Andina (provisional owner). This will be replaced by the legal name, RUT (Chilean tax ID) and address of the responsible company once it is incorporated.
Contact for data matters: hola@araucaniaandina.com
2. What data we use
- Account: name, email, password (stored encrypted), language and, if you provide it, your phone number.
- Bookings: the service, dates, number of people, amount, payment status and voucher. Your card details are processed by Mercado Pago: we do not see or store them.
- Forms: what you write when you list your business, ask for information, request a group quote or apply as an affiliate or agency.
- Businesses and affiliates: company or personal details, RUT (Chilean tax ID), Sernatur registration and bank transfer details (stored encrypted).
- Use of the site: pages viewed and clicks, counted without third-party cookies and without identifying you.
3. What we use it for
- Creating and managing your account.
- Managing your bookings, payments, vouchers, changes, cancellations and refunds, and sending you the emails for each step.
- Sending each business the details it needs to serve your booking.
- Answering your messages and applications.
- Settling commissions with businesses and affiliates.
- Improving the site with general statistics.
- Preventing fraud and meeting legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell or rent your data.
4. Legal basis
We use your data because it is necessary for the service you request (for example, a booking), because you give us your consent (for example, by ticking the box on a form), or to meet legal obligations.
5. Who we share it with
- The business of your booking: only what it needs to serve you.
- Mercado Pago: to process payments.
- Technical providers: hosting, email and backups, which process data on our behalf and under confidentiality.
- Authorities: when the law requires it.
If any of these providers processes data outside Chile, we require it to do so with an adequate level of protection.
6. How long we keep it
For as long as you have your account or as long as we need it for the purpose for which you gave it. Booking and payment data are kept for the period required by tax rules. Applications and enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted within 24 months at the latest.
7. Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and blocking of your data, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to hola@araucaniaandina.com. We will reply within the legal deadlines. If you are not satisfied, you may turn to the personal data protection authority.
8. Security
We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, restricted access and backups. No system is infallible: if an incident affects your data, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Minors
The site is not aimed at people under 18. Accounts and bookings must be made by adults.
10. Cookies
- Necessary: they keep you signed in, protect forms and remember whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Affiliate attribution: if you arrive through an affiliate's link, we store their code during your visit to assign the booking to them.
- Measurement: we count visits without third-party cookies. If in the future we use Google Analytics or another tool that uses cookies, we will ask for your consent before turning it on.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version with its date and, if the change is important, we will let you know.
